The Registrar of Financial Institutions is entrusted with the paramount responsibility of ensuring the stability, security, and soundness of the financial system while concurrently safeguarding the interests of financial consumers. This crucial mandate is achieved through the vigilant enforcement of regulatory standards and the establishment of exacting operational standards.
The Registrar, in accordance with this mandate, assumes the pivotal role of licensing, regulating, and meticulously supervising a diverse array of financial institutions. This encompasses the oversight of banks, capital market participants, credit reference bureaus, development financial institutions, discount houses, leasing companies, financial cooperatives, insurance firms, microfinance institutions, and pension companies.
