Mrs Mercy Kumbatira is the current Executive Director responsible for operations at the Reserve Bank of Malawi. The position involves providing strategic guidance to seven department in the Reserve Bank. Mrs Mercy Kumbatira holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland obtained in 2000 and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Malawi, Chancellor College obtained in 1990.
Mrs Mercy Kumbatira holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland obtained in 2000 and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Malawi, Chancellor College obtained in 1990.
She is also a Graduate Fellow of Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa (MEFMI) and also holds a Certificate in Leadership from Redpoint Academy obtained in 2016 and another Certificate in Women in Leadership from University of Stellenbosch obtained in 2019. In addition, Mrs Kumbatira has attended numerous short courses both within the country and abroad
Mrs Kumbatira has spent the past the 32 years working for the Reserve Bank of Malawi serving in various positions as director, including Director, Human Resources, Banking and Currency Management. At managerial level, she worked in different departments including exchange control, Financial markets, Banking and currency.
