Enforcement
The Registrar diligently carries out enforcement actions against regulated financial institutions, individuals, employers (in the context of the Pension Act), and other financial services providers in instances of non-compliance with financial services laws. The overarching goal of enforcement is to establish an effective deterrent mechanism rooted in the early identification of misconduct, followed by swift and decisive action.
Under this mandate, the Registrar is vested with the authority to deploy a wide spectrum of enforcement measures, including administrative penalties, directives, orders, the removal of directors or employees, as well as license revocation, variation, or suspension.
